In order to ensure that the combustion chambers are all exactly the same size, the heads need to be CC'd.  In order to do that, you need to ensure that the head is held upside-down and level so the combustion chambers can be filled with a metered amount of liquid.  So a jig must be made to hold the head upside down and it must be able to be adjusted to make the head level.

Here is the bill of materials for the head jig:

4-12" long 3/8"x16 threaded rod stock
4-3/8"x16 T-nuts
12-3/8"x16 nuts
12-3/8" washers
4-rubber washers (to protect the face of the head)
1-1'x2' piece of plywood

Put washers and nuts on the rods, putting rubber washers on the face of the head to protect it.  Just have a short bit of the rod stock sticking out below the head.

Place the head in the middle of the plywood and mark where the rod stock sits on the plywood.

Drill 7/16" holes in the plywood where the rod marks are and then hammer the T-nuts into the back of the plywood.

Thread the rod stock into the T-nuts from the top and put a washer and nut on top.  Tighten to hold the rods in place.  Put nuts and washers about 2" below the tops of the rod stock.  The head will rest on these.

Flip the head upside down and set it on the rods.  Move the nuts up and down to level the head.

At this point, you are ready to start CC'ing the head.
